The apple embedded into the maple leaf echoes the name ”Canadian Teachers”, and the sum of its parts not only suggests a Canadian flavour in the shape of the maple leaf, but also alludes to a federation, with all the elements working together to achieve a common goal.

The use of the two most renowned icons for teachers (the apple and flame of knowledge) along with the national symbol for Canada (maple leaf), results in a harmonious blend of elements and colours that also emit an energetic forward movement (arising from a solid foundation in education).

The use of multiple colours signifies diversity on many levels.
