Ottawa) The President of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) will join the President of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) tomorrow to unveil this year’s Canadian poster celebrating World Teachers’ Day. The unveiling will take place during ETFO’s Annual General Meeting currently being held in Toronto.

Guinness Book of Records Attempt on April 23 Canadian teacher leaders to teach World’s Biggest Lesson!
The President of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation (CTF) is going back to the classroom this week to help break a Guinness world record by teaching this year’s World’s Biggest Lesson on April 23. Other teacher leaders in Canada are also planning to teach the World’s Biggest Lesson in their respective regions. They are Sean Noah, President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association (NLTA), Mary-Lou Donnelly, President of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU), Jimmy Jacquard, President of the Nunavut Teachers’ Association (NTA), Jim Tredger, President of the Yukon Teachers' Association (YTA), and Paul Taillefer, President of l’Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO).

Teachers call on parents to boycott BULLY
The British Columbia Teachers’ Federation, the Canadian Teachers’ Federation and teachers from throughout the Caribbean, the United Kingdom and North America are calling on parents to boycott the mean-spirited and harmful video game: Bully- Scholarship Edition to be released on March 4, 2008. The producer of the video is the Vancouver-based Rockstar.
